Community fit
Community & Typical Residents The community is made up of remote workers, freelancers, and independent professionals who are looking for a comfortable, well-run place to live while working from Madeira. Most residents stay for several weeks to a few months and value stability, routine, and a respectful shared environment. The atmosphere is social but calm. People are generally open to conversations, shared meals, or occasional activities, but there is no pressure to participate. Quiet work hours during the day are respected, and the house is not suited for party-focused stays. Residents typically range from their late 20s to 40s and come from diverse international backgrounds. Many work full-time online and appreciate having proper workspaces, reliable internet, and enough space to focus. Community Mission The mission is to create a small, high-quality coliving environment where people can combine productive remote work with a balanced, grounded everyday life. Rather than organizing constant events, the focus is on providing the right setting: a comfortable home, good infrastructure, and an atmosphere that naturally supports connection when it feels right. The space is designed to attract people who value respect, independence, and shared responsibility while enjoying the benefits of living with like-minded individuals. The goal is to offer a stable base where residents can work, recharge, and feel at home in Madeira, without the intensity or noise of large-scale coliving hubs.

Neighborhood
The property is located in Santa Luzia, a residential neighborhood just above Funchal’s city center. The area is known for its local feel, hillside setting, and open views over the city and surrounding mountains. From the house, cafés, bakeries, supermarkets, and small local shops are within walking distance. You can easily reach the city center and the seafront on foot, eliminating the need for a car for daily errands and social plans. Santa Luzia is well connected to the rest of Funchal and sits close to many popular digital nomad meetups, coworking spaces, and events. Thanks to its central position, it’s easy to join community activities, fitness classes, hikes, and social gatherings happening around the city. While it’s possible to live comfortably here without a vehicle, renting a scooter or car is recommended if you want to explore more of Madeira, including hikes, beaches, viewpoints, and more remote parts of the island.
