Our property is nestled on a lush, forested property at the edge of the town of Santa Elena. It is one of the most welcoming and beautiful hotels in the Monteverde area. The newly built hotel features modern, well-equipped rooms, along with bright and spacious common areas where guests can relax, and a co-working space for those who want to work. Our friendly local staff is ready to make your stay unforgettable, and each morning begins with a complimentary, freshly prepared breakfast you’ll want to linger over. In the evenings, enjoy a sunset drink on one of our terraces, overlooking the valley and private gardens where you might just catch sight of a colorful bird or pretty butterfly. Relax on our spacious terraces that surround both the restaurant and our multi-purpose activity space, which also serves as a co-working area and teaching space for our education projects. What criteria do you use to evaluate potential renters?
We look for considerate individuals that find the purpose of our social enterprise just as important as the quality of our rooms, the look and feel of our cummunal spaces and the incredible natural beauty that Monteverde has to offer. We look for open-minded, considerate individuals who are looking for an opportunity to share a beautiful home with other exciting people.
Can I extend or shorten my stay?
Absolutely! If we have availability, you can easily extend your stay. Just keep in mind that there is a minimum stay requirement of 2 weeks if you decide to shorten your visit. We're here to help make your stay as comfortable as possible!
Is it possible to arrive before the designated move-in time or stay past the move-out time?
Yes, it's possible to arrive before the designated move-in time, but please be aware that your room might not be ready yet. Similarly, if you need to stay past the move-out time, we may need to store your belongings outside of your room to accommodate new arrivals. We appreciate your understanding!
Do I need to sign a contract/lease?
We believe in fostering a trusting community, so there are no traditional contracts or leases required. We focus on creating a comfortable and harmonious living environment for everyone.

Will I have privacy?
Absolutely! Each resident has their own private bedroom to ensure a comfortable and personal space. While you'll share the common areas with others, we're all about creating a respectful and friendly environment!
Are pets allowed?
Although Monteverde is all about biodiversity and animals, we might have members with potential allergies, so, unfortunately, we can’t allow people to bring pets with them. We want to make sure everyone can be happy in their communal home.
Can I split the rent with my partner or a friend?
We allow couples and friends to stay in our rooms, although we would like you top be aware that the bed is a queen bed. Please be advised that extra fees may apply.
Is there a designated space for work?
Yes, we have two great options for working! You can settle into our large breakfast space, which is usually quiet after 9:00 AM, although there may be some movement with staff and guests. Alternatively, we also have an 'education space' dedicated to activities with the scholarship students we support as a social enterprise. The schedule of activities with the children varies, but is far less than 50% of the workweek.
What types of people will I be sharing the home with?
Knowing that we are in Monteverde, we expect nature lovers. But also, given the fact that Hotel con Corazon is a social enterprise that supports at-risk youth in Monteverde we also expect socially conscious travellers.
