About this coliving home

Nestled in the peaceful countryside of Nishiaizu, our place is a small, self-sustaining eco-village surrounded by forests, mountains, and clear rivers. Our accommodations are in a renovated traditional Japanese school, featuring a shared kitchen, communal bathrooms, and simple yet comfortable furnishings. Wi-Fi is available in most areas. Cooperation is our way if life. We cook together, work together, and support one another. Residents enjoy seasonal organic farming, quiet spaces for reflection or remote work, and activities inspired by holistic and sustainable living. Around 80% of our residents come from outside Japan, mostly from the US and Europe, creating a rich and open-minded international atmosphere. Our place is ideal for those seeking an authentic, community-based, and mindful lifestyle. Whether you're staying for a month or several months, we invite those who genuinely value connection—with nature, others, and themselves—to join us.

Frequently asked questions

Will I have privacy?

Yes — in your own room, absolutely! But please note that common spaces like the kitchen, living room, and outdoor areas are shared with the community. We live closely together, so it's a great chance to connect — but also totally okay to take your quiet time when needed.

Are pets allowed?

Yes, most of the time! 🐾 But please note that we already have a cat in the common spaces. Also, since there are small children around, we kindly ask that any pets are friendly, safe, and won’t pose any risk to them. Let’s chat in advance if you’d like to bring one!

Can I split the rent with my partner or a friend?

Yes, you can! 💛 However, since the price includes 2 meals per person, the total cost might change to cover the additional food. Please ask us in advance so we can make arrangements for you!

Is there a designated space for work?

We don’t have a specific workspace at the moment, and indoor space can be a bit limited. But there are still a few cozy corners where you can work with your laptop — and lots of peaceful spots outside in nature that are perfect for focusing or getting inspired. Wi-Fi is available both inside and out!

What types of people will I be sharing the home with?

You’ll be living with a mix of Japanese and international people — mostly from Europe and the US. 🌍 Some are here short-term as travelers or volunteers, and others are part of our long-term community. Many are farmers, artists, healers, or people seeking a more conscious and connected way of living. It’s a warm and open-minded group who value nature, sharing, and holistic living.

Do I need to sign a contract/lease?

No paperwork needed — just agree to our online Residents Terms and fill out a simple form with your visa status, as required by Japanese regulations. Easy!

Can I extend or shorten my stay?

Want to stay longer? You’re most welcome — just let us know as early as possible so we can arrange it! 😊 Leaving earlier than planned? Please note that we don’t offer refunds for shortened stays.

Is it permissible to have visitors during the day/night?

We love it when you have guests, and they’re welcome to enjoy our cozy common spaces! You can invite them into your room as well — a small contribution is appreciated if they’re joining meals or staying for a while. 😊 Please also make sure to keep your valuables secure, as we can’t take responsibility for any personal belongings.
