Frequently asked questions
Will I have privacy?
Yes. You have your own private bedroom with a door that locks, and you are the only person with a key to it. The kitchen, living room, workspace, garden and wellness areas are shared, and quiet hours from 10 PM keep evenings calm. Several rooms also have their own en-suite bathroom.
Are pets allowed?
Case by case. We have no blanket rule: tell us what animal you have and we check with the current residents first, mainly for allergies. Small, quiet pets are usually fine.
Can I split the rent with my partner or a friend?
The rooms are single occupancy, so a room cannot be shared. Couples and friends are welcome to take two rooms in the same house though — it happens regularly, and you still share all the common areas.
Is there a designated space for work?
Yes, twice over. There is a dedicated workspace in the house with fibre WiFi, and every bedroom has a proper desk and desk chair, so you can also work from your room. Download speed is around 800 Mbit.
What types of people will I be sharing the home with?
Mostly people who work: cross-border commuters into Geneva, young professionals, researchers and expats who have just arrived in the region. Most residents are between 25 and 40. Every applicant has an introductory call with us before joining, so the house stays balanced.
Is it possible to arrive before the designated move-in time or stay past the move-out time?
Usually yes. Tell us your arrival time when you book and we will do our best to accommodate an early or late arrival. We can also store your luggage on the day of move-in or move-out.
Do I need to sign a contract/lease?
Yes. You sign a standard French furnished-accommodation lease of 12 months, which you can end at any time with one month's written notice. You also sign the house rules and an inventory at check-in. Everything is done electronically before you arrive.
Is there a Credit Score required?
No. Credit scores are not used in France. What we look at is proof of stable income, or a guarantor.
What is the policy on alcohol?
Alcohol is fine — this is a home, not a student residence. Two practical rules: no glass at the poolside, plastic only, and respect the quiet hours from 10 PM. We are not a party house.
Any meals/snacks included?
Meals are not included day to day — the kitchen is fully equipped and residents cook for themselves. There is a monthly pizza party and a monthly food basket for the house, both included.
Is there a kitchen where I can cook my own food?
Yes, a large fully equipped kitchen with an oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge and freezer space for everyone, and a dining table that seats the whole house.
Do you have storage space for my stuff/luggage?
Yes. We can store luggage before move-in or after move-out, and there is storage space in the house for bulkier items such as ski gear or a spare suitcase.
Send a request first. You won't be charged yet.
