Frequently asked questions
Is there a designated space for work?
We don’t have a formal coworking area, but Ostel offers a variety of spaces where you can comfortably work from home. Residents are welcome to spread out and find a quiet, semi-private spot throughout the property that best fits their needs.
Will I have privacy?
While Ostel offers shared bedrooms, each resident still has their own designated space within the room. Common areas are shared, but we emphasize respect, courtesy, and clear boundaries so everyone feels comfortable and can enjoy both community living and personal downtime.
Are pets allowed?
We love animals, but unfortunately Ostel cannot accommodate pets or service animals. Since our bedrooms are shared, we need to consider the comfort, health, and well-being of everyone in the room. This helps us maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for the whole community.
Can I split the rent with my partner or a friend?
We understand the importance of living with loved ones! However, our policy is one person per bed and rent is charged per person. This helps maintain individual space and ensures comfort for everyone in our community.
What types of people will I be sharing the home with?
At Ostel, you’ll be living alongside a diverse community of locals, professionals, and students from different backgrounds and walks of life. Our residents value respect, courtesy, and community, making it easy to connect while still enjoying your own personal space.
What information do I need to supply for the application?
To join our community, you'll need to provide a valid government-issued photo ID during check-in. This helps us ensure everyone's safety and keep everything running smoothly. We're excited to welcome you!
What criteria do you use to evaluate potential renters?
At Ostel, we like to keep things simple and welcoming. We look at a few factors, such as employment and steady income, but just as important is how someone will fit into our community vibe. We love bringing together people from different backgrounds, and our goal is to keep Ostel as diverse, respectful, and friendly as possible.
Is it possible to arrive before the designated move-in time or stay past the move-out time?
Absolutely! Early arrivals or late stays are possible with management approval. Please don’t assume—just ask, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your needs. We understand life is always changing, and we try to be as flexible as possible.
Can I extend or shorten my stay?
Yes! Extensions are always possible, and we’ll be happy to help—just note that the extra time will be added to your rent. For shortened stays, we understand that life can throw curveballs. While we can’t offer a refund for unused days (since our month-to-month model gives you maximum flexibility), we’ll always work with you to make your experience as smooth and stress-free as possible.
Do I need to sign a contract/lease?
Yes! We ask all residents to sign a short-term occupancy agreement that outlines the terms of your stay. We also review and sign a house rules agreement together before move-in, ensuring everyone knows what to expect and can enjoy a smooth, comfortable experience.
Do you accept co-signers?
Yes! We accept co-signers as long as they provide proper documentation, including a government-issued ID and a signed short-term occupancy agreement along with the resident who will be living with us.
Is there a Credit Score required?
Nope! We don’t require a credit check. We want to make moving in as easy and stress-free as possible
