About this coliving home
Living at this coliving is much more than just a room and a desk with good internet. Here, you'll find a shared space that promotes balance between work, rest, learning, and meaningful connections. We welcome you into our family, where self-regeneration and sustainable living are our purpose.
We're connected with the local community, and we organise various activities, whether for adventure or to relax. We offer yoga/pilates classes, climbing gear, and hiking in the Serra do Sicó, and we have bikes available!
You can stay in a private room or in a shared dorm. Our bathrooms are shared, as well as the kitchen. Colivers have the choice to cook for themselves or through a community system (each person cooks at a time for everyone).
For remote working, you can enjoy the coworking spaces we offer (indoors and outdoors), and if you need privacy, there are desks in each bedroom. Furthermore, we also offer access to a private coworking room in the centre of one of the nearest towns (Soure). Every space mentioned has WIFI access.
You can bring your own car (we have free parking spots!), come by public transport (train and bus), or take a taxi.

Extra guests in private rooms are additionally charged 25€ per day, 125€ per week or 500€ per month per guest.
If the guest decides to cook and eat in the community system, the ingredients charge is 10€ per day.

Laundry is free up to 1 wash per week per coliver. If you need to use it more than once, a fee of 5€ applies per new load.
Cooking classes for healthy and nourishing vegetarian and vegan dishes with our team member Simone. This is the price for a two-hour class, including ingredients.
Life coaching or career coaching (varies for individuals or groups: 35-75 €).
Consisting of a special mindful walk to connect with nature, this is a 2h30 long activity that includes: Forest walk Mindful meditation Simple stretches Mindfulness exercise Daily Nature Exercise Sensory Exercise/Blindfolded walk in pairs Reflection circle
Community fit
We welcome like-minded people from around the world who are aligned with the principles of sustainability, ecological living and a vegetarian diet. The farm also hosts retreats, workshops and coach lessons, so it is very common for colivers to mingle with locals, nature lovers, entrepreneurs, yogis, sporty people and people transitioning in life, seeking reconnection, reflection, self-development, safe spaces, healing, and body/emotional expression.

Neighborhood
The Venda Nova neighborhood is a rural residential area, surrounded by trees and hiking paths. It has occasional weekday buses. The nearest cafe is a 5-minute drive or a 12-minute bike ride (they are remote work friendly!) and has delicious traditional Portuguese pastry. The nearest towns are: - Redinha, a 7-minute drive or a 15-minute bike ride, which has minimarkets, local cafes, a pharmacy, a spring with a public river pool, a horse riding association and a climbing mountain; - Soure is a 20-minute drive and has supermarkets (too many!), a park (to exercise, relax, or barbecue!), cafes, a library, pharmacies, hairdressers, etc. We also have access to an exclusive free room at a Social Innovation Centre to use as a coworking space! There is a small, lovely market every Monday morning, if you'd like to buy some fresh vegetables and meet local producers!

Frequently asked questions
Will I have privacy?
Yes, either in a private room (if you choose one), or in the many corners of the house and its shared rooms. We are a community, and we welcome sharing your needs with us. If in a particular moment you need a private space, we will organise ourselves to provide it to you.
Can I split the rent with my partner or a friend?
Yes, you can definitely split the rent with your partner or a friend! Just make sure to discuss the arrangements with our team so we can assist with the bookings. We want to ensure a great experience for everyone involved!
Is there a designated space for work?
Yes, we have indoor and outdoor co-working spaces, with WIFI access and power strips. We also provide free access to a coworking space in the nearby Soure village centre.
What information do I need to supply for the application?
To apply, you'll need to provide your full name, email address, and a few details about your stay. We look forward to welcoming you to our community!
What types of people will I be sharing the home with?
Quinta da Carvalheira is accepting guests regardless of their gender, nationality and sexual orientation. We only accept people older than 18 years old. We also foster a sustainable, eco-friendly lifestyle through a vegetarian diet, values that our guests agree to before booking.
What criteria do you use to evaluate potential renters?
As part of the application process, we have an informal intro call, where we share our values and lifestyle and understand if those match with the colivers' expectations and needs. Since we foster a respectfull, sustainable and eco-friendly lifestyle through a vegetarian diet, we seek for colivers who woud be happy to live in this community.
Is it possible to arrive before the designated move-in time or stay past the move-out time?
Yes, early arrivals or late departures can be arranged with at least 2 days' notice. Just keep in mind that extra fees may apply for any additional days.
Can I extend or shorten my stay?
Yes, you're welcome to extend your stay with us! We understand that plans can change, so if you need to shorten your stay due to unexpected reasons like health or family matters, you can discuss it with our team. Just keep in mind that you won't receive a full reimbursement. You're also welcome to share the rest of your stay with a friend, it’s all about flexibility and community here!
Do I need to sign a contract/lease?
Currently, there is no need to sign a contract or lease. We aim to offer flexibility for our residents, so you can enjoy your stay without the commitment of a long-term agreement.
Do you accept co-signers?
Since we are not asking colivers to sign a contract or a lease, we are not accepting co-signers.
Is there a Credit Score required?
A credit score is not required to join our community. We focus more on the shared experiences and connections that make our coliving space special!
When/how will you refund my security deposit?
We don't require a security deposit from our colivers.
