Santa Cruz de Tenerife should not be confused with its perhaps more famous name-sharing location ‘Santa Cruz.’ It is a port city in Tenerife and one of the Canary Islands. It is also a great spot to sample a bit of coliving in. As a Spanish port, an incredible number of people pass through every day, making it a hub of culture, people, and life, from trendy art galleries to informative museums, i.e., the Museum of Man and Nature. Any digital nomad wanting a work break will be spoilt for choice. The city lends itself to a less touristy vibe, with other parts of the island catering to these visitors. Instead, the city offers a suitable environment for a co-liver with reasonably priced food markets full of local produce, good Internet connections, and a heck load of outdoor activities. Happily, there is an already active nomad community on the island. So you’ll feel welcome with the locals and other travelers in no time. Things to ensure you see: the Auditorio de Tenerife, the Parliament buildings, and the Plaza de la Candelaria. In February/March, Santa Cruz de Tenerife becomes one big celebration with the Carnival it hosts each year. Second, only to Rio’s, the city explodes with life. Worth a visit at this time, but you might struggle to finish some of your work! You can spend the rest of your time on the island on the Playa de Las Teresitas, a breathtaking unspoiled beach with palm trees lined along the golden sand. You can play volleyball, take exercise classes, or enjoy the relaxing sun. And getting around the island is easy with its good-value local bus network and a small tram system. Taxis are plentiful if needs must, but what’s lovely about coliving in Santa Cruz de Tenerife is the green city—a relaxing nomadic adventure.
